A few days ago a friend and photographer shot me an e-mail and asked if I was planning on going to the Rugby Tweed Run (which took place Oct. 15th. in New York City), now I must confess this event wasn’t on my radar but once I heard about it, there was no hesitation on my part. An event where most of the attendees would be wearing tweed… Now that can be a gentleman’s source of style inspiration (or a pre-Halloween costume nightmare). The event turned out to be a showcase of great looks… solid style… and casual cool.
I won’t get into the details of the actual event as you can look that up, I will tell you however that in terms of style, it certainly did not disappoint. What I liked was that the event wasn’t only about the expected tweed, it was about variety and diversity. It was about “your” take on fashion and style using a common canvas… yet the final images were for the most part different and alive.

One of my favorite jackets was worn by Shahriar S. of Phineas Cole & Paul Stuart (pictured bove) the pocket square was a great final touch.

I always enjoyed seeing different takes on the same or similliar items (the waist coat above and below). It’s about how the individual makes the item his own and personalizes it

As expected the ladies came out and added their personal touch to the event.
For those of you who enjoy and appreciate tweed keep an eye out for the next Tweed Run - it’s certainly worth attending.
