I went to Tokyo recently with one thing in mind - shoot for GQ Japan. And while I gave them photos, they (GQ, and the 16 men I shot) gave me so much more. I shot for a magazine that understands and promotes style, and shot men who live, eat, and breath style. Nothing makes for a better incubator than a great source of inspiration and a strong support system.
To have been part of the Gentlemen of Tokyo feature ( a 24 page supplemental magazine within the November GQ Japan magazine in which I was the photographer and directed the individual videos shot for GQ.jp.

While my Japanese is limited to 4 or words, my appreciation for style doesn’t limit me from adding foreign publications to my library. The November issue is a must have, not because my work is included, but because it truly provides an overall style lesson. My library is made up of very few magazines, when it comes to style, I am very selective. GQ Japan is certainly among the easiest to reach.
