Special thank you to Nordstrom for having reached out and being part of my Pitti trip. While I can’t pack the whole store in my suitcase, I can certainly bring back a little bit of Florence and Milan to the followers of the Nordstrom Men Shop Daily blog.  (click link to see part 1 of a 3 part series)

Day 1.

While street style photography has allowed me to come across some stylish individuals, I’ve always enjoyed the trade shows as they have participated in my education on fashion and continue to give me a better understanding of the product being worn and produced.  Last year in Vegas I had a chance to take a peek at some of the brands showcasing product at AccessoriesTheShow, Moda Manhattan & FAME,  there I saw some great new companies and established veterans in terms of women’s wear.  While my focus on Guerreisms is primarily the men, I occasionally enjoy showcasing some of my finds along the way in terms of women’s wear and accessories - to me this is a prelude of what I may expect to see during the upcoming fashion season when I’m shooting for Marie Claire.com.

Trade shows are always a reminder that stylish person never limits him/herself to only brands with massive marketing budgets.  Here all brands are on the same playing field.  This weekend I look forward to finding brands and product that should certainly be on your radar and sharing images of the happenings at AccessoriesTheShow, Moda Manhattan & FAME both Sunday and Monday.

For some time I’ve been looking for the perfect weekend folding travel bag.  Something to place my suits in or just some great slacks and not have to worry about folding them into a weekend bag or bringing a suitcase.  Recently I found a folding bag on eBay (one of my favorite places to find great items) from Billy Reid that not only works well, but also looks great.  Looks like Billy Reid, Jonathan Adler, Steven Alan, Chris Benz, Fallon, Ruffian, and Tibi have come together and formed an eBay Holiday Collective and are offering some great items via the ‘buy now’ option on eBay.
For those looking for some great deals eBay is always a great place to shop, add to the fact that some solid brands have come together for the eBay Holiday Collective only makes taking a look a must.

In all honesty I’ve never been one particularly fond of wish lists, until Taigan.com made their way on my radar.  Things and views evolve - this is all part of being a gentleman, so when I had a chance to go on their site and see the product they stocked, I couldn’t help but jot down items that I’d recommend without hesitation.
What I like about the site is that unlike many, it is able to touch up on pretty much every aspect of living (from clothing, food, lifestyle) with the same fervor.  Taigan obviously believes in living it up and living well.
While budgets may be an issue, I do believe that Taigan has something for every one, be it the  luxury shopper or the chap who’s looking for 1 great purchase for the year.
View the selection of items that I really liked at and be sure to visit the rest of their site to find something special for you and yours during the upcoming holidays.
P.S.  Their site is solid!

In the pas 5 years I have yet to leave home without a hat, for me it’s one of those things that help in defining ones style or exposes ones lack of style.  There’s just something special in which hat one decides to wear and how one chooses to wear it.

In time I have gone from multiple brands to now only 2 - I certainly have come to appreciate that all hats are not created equal.  While in Milan, Italy I had the chance to visit the showroom of one of the most iconic hat brands - Borsalino (which is one of the 2 brands I regularly wear).  While I don’t easily get excited, I must admit a hat man in a hat showroom is kind of like a kid in a candy store, in my case just minus the running around.  I won’t write too much about the product - it speaks for itself (plus you can easily read about it on their site).  What I will say is that there is a certain mystic in tilting a Borsalino brim, something out a black and white movie that whispers COOL when COOL wasn’t the latest trend on the internet, when COOL was about living life with a certain ‘joie de vivre’.

One of the things I most like about Borsalino is that the quality is as woven into the brand as its history.

Product Review: Chambray Shirt from Vagrant Nobility.
I’m not one who does much denim, truth be told I only own 1 pair of jeans that I wear occasionally on weekend runs to the local store.  This season I wanted to find a great denim/chambray shirt, something I could wear during fashion season and beyond, something that had character and I could incorporate in my every day style.
Recently I was introduced to Vagrant Nobility (a Chicago, Illinois based company) who makes a long and short sleeve chambray shirt among other things.  In all honesty I didn’t expect much in terms of something new, or fresh - I mean a chambray shirt is a chambray shirt - I stand corrected.  Material, fit and style do differentiate chambray shirts as they do in all other items.
The Material.
I’d be a fool and liar to even begin talking about denim material (I own one pair so I leave the explanations to the experts like Mordachai (of Mister Mort).  What I can say is that the material works well with a bespoke suit or a great pair of linen pants.
The Fit
Slim cut without being skin tight or restricting me from moving swiftly while constantly raising my camera, or picking up my daughter.  No excess material to tuck in.
The Style
The button holes at a slant, club collar, and unique flaps on the sleeve buttons give this chambray shirt a certain edge without going overboard.  Sometimes it may seem that certain brands do too much to stand out, this is not the case for Vagrant Nobility, the shirt stands out without being offensive or trying too hard.
I have long left behind the idea that style is about having the latest trends, instead I believe that the pursuit of style is not influenced by trends but instead, it is its own measure of style.
Vagrant Nobility as a whole is a refreshing brand that has all its product manufactured in Chicago, Illinois, and gives you a taste of Americana.  Each collection is deliberately small so get it while you can.
The chambray shirt from Vagrant Nobility is
Guerre worn and approved and Casual Fly certified.

As always I wanted to share some of the product that caught my eye (this time) at MRket Las Vegas.
While at MRket during casual conversation one brand kept being mentioned more than the others… Eynack glasses.  I finally made my way to the booth to view the product for myself.  It was a pleasant surprise, the reception was great and only surpassed by the product itself.  I’m constantly looking for frames that stand out without being “toyish”, these reading glasses have a flair and cool that make a statement.  For more on the brand visit their site at: www.eynack.com
The second brand that was refreshing was Lenor Romano.  One of the pieces that stood out from their menswear collection was their knitted denim shirt.  This shirt feels smooth while maintaining a rugged cool look. for more info on the brand visit their site at: www.Lenorromano-theshop.com.
and finally Pantherella socks. I’m a sock man and it takes plenty to move me when it comes to socks.  I’m moved!  This socks are golden, should I say every color of the rainbow.  The colors are amazing and quality is unquestionable.  More on their product visit their site:www.Pantherella.com
Bottom line: If you know or heard of the 3 brands you’re ahead of the curve.  If not, visit their site and have a look for yourself.

Of course the perfect summer party is about the right gathering of lively spirits, laughter, great energy and good times, but even before the smiles and cheers it’s about the preparation.

It’s about the little details that go into the final product.  It’s about the right chilled white wine, the perfect appetizers, freshness of fruits, be it long term or short term memories that stay with you long after the music stops.

While the perfect summer party is not limited to one look or one particular outfit, the basis for the great look has to start with something elegant and fresh, sometimes that can be the right fragrance…In this case, the right fragrance and source of inspiration is Blanc Edition fragrance from Lacoste Fragrance: think linen, if it’s not a white shirt, maybe be one with vibrant colors, the perfect D ring belt, and a great summer hat.

While the perfect party may begin before the sun goes down, the stylish man knows it officially starts after applying the right fragrance, a prelude to a walk of confidence.

T.M. Stock at MRket Show New York

Although many brands are playing with bright colors not many are able to walk the thin line that embraces both the professional and the fashion conscious.

Why: This is one of those companies that gives you a great product while not looking to cater to those who just want to stand out.  Instead T.M. Stock gives the young professional a  tool to express himself within a corporate setting.

To sum it up:  While your navy and/or grey suit may be the backdrop, the T.M. Stock accessory is what will liven it up while showing that creativity and fun can thrive in a professional setting.  A great way for the young professional to add flavor to the boardroom.

Shwood Glasses at MRket.

I’ve seen wood frames, but none as precise and well crafted as the ones from Shwood.

Why? Because it’s fresh.  A simple and refreshing twist on something classic - glasses.

To sum it up: This is one of those products that say something without being too out there.  A simple twist to an item everyday item.
